How’s that for a headline, huh?
It’s true. Good lawyer marketing IS like dental hygeine. You have to implement small daily routines that, if performed habitually, will keep your practice healthy.
Just like brushing your teeth.
Sure, you could brush your teeth for an hour, once a week, but that won’t do much to keep your teeth in your head where they belong. You brush your teeth for 2 minutes or so every morning and evening (and if you’re really good, after lunch, too). Maybe you even floss daily too.
Successful lawyer marketers have made marketing activities a daily habit. It doesn’t have to be a big block of time each day spent on marketing. Instead, they make it part of their routine to call a client or a referral source each day, write a short email, or blog post every few days, etc.
That’s it. 5 to 15 minutes a day, adds up to an hour or more of concentrated marketing activity done every week.
So, make a habit of spending a few minutes a day on marketing. Maybe it’s first thing in the morning, just before lunch or at the end of your workday. If you keep it small, you’re more likely to stick with it.
